The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Head of Maths KS5 to lead a successful and ambitious Mathematics Department. This role offers the chance to shape the A Level curriculum, support a large team of teachers, and inspire students with a passion for mathematics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic planning and delivery of the A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics curriculum.
- Manage and develop a large team of A Level Mathematics teachers, providing coaching and professional development.
- Oversee academic tracking and organise targeted support and enrichment classes for students.
- Provide leadership for a large and ambitious KS5 cohort, including support for Oxbridge and early-entry candidates.
- Design high-quality schemes of work, assessments, and intervention materials for Year 12 and Year 13.
- Maintain strong communication with parents, carers, and the student cohort.
- Support the development of students through advanced problem-solving and mock interviews.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Excellent subject knowledge with a strong understanding of A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics specifications.
- Proven leadership experience in team management, mentoring, or curriculum leadership.
- Outstanding organisational skills and the ability to manage a fast-paced workload.
- A genuine passion for mathematics and the ability to inspire and motivate students and colleagues.
Preferred
- Experience teaching a range of Further Mathematics modules.
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment design.
- Strong track record in delivering high-quality teaching and achieving excellent student outcomes.
