Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Modern Foreign Languages department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that challenges students and promotes academic excellence.
- Supervise and support departmental staff, providing professional guidance and mentorship.
- Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Promote extracurricular engagement through language-related activities and events.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate language learning across the curriculum.
- Ensure compliance with the school’s Code of Conduct and safeguarding policies.
- Stay up to date with developments in education and incorporate innovative teaching methods into practice.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher status through a PGCE, GTP, or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge in Modern Foreign Languages.
- Experience in designing and delivering engaging, challenging, and personalised lessons.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a department or provide leadership support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of child development and positive disciplinary methods.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student well-being.
Preferred
- Experience in instructional coaching, ideally accredited.
- Evidence of involvement in transformational change within a department.
- Experience in leading or organising extracurricular activities.
- Evidence of participation in relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
