Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Music department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and deliver engaging music curriculum across all key stages.
  • Support and mentor music staff to enhance teaching quality and student achievement.
  • Coordinate and oversee a wide range of extracurricular music activities and ensembles.
  • Organize and direct annual music productions and concerts.
  • Promote a culture of musical excellence and inclusivity.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to support student development.
  • Ensure the effective use of music facilities and resources.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in music education.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school music department.
  • Strong knowledge of music theory, performance, and composition.
  • Experience in managing and developing extracurricular music programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and personal development.

Preferred

  • Experience in directing school productions or large ensembles.
  • Experience in curriculum development or music assessment.
  • Experience with music technology and digital resources.
  • Knowledge of music industry pathways and careers.
