Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the music department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and deliver engaging music curriculum across all key stages.
  • Inspire and motivate students through creative and innovative teaching methods.
  • Organise and oversee extracurricular music activities, including rehearsals and performances.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate music across the broader curriculum.
  • Maintain and develop the school's extensive music facilities and resources.
  • Support the professional development of music staff.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in music education.
  • Strong knowledge of the music curriculum and current teaching practices.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a department.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Passion for music and a commitment to student achievement.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a music department or similar role.
  • Experience with performing arts and extracurricular music programmes.
  • Familiarity with music technology and digital tools.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary on the ULT Teachers’ Pay Scale (£35,000 - £51,000) + TLR2.
