The Opportunity:

As the Head of Music, you will lead and inspire a vibrant music program that nurtures creativity and excellence. This role is central to shaping the artistic development of students and ensuring music remains a vital part of the school’s educational vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the music curriculum across all year groups, ensuring it meets the highest standards of teaching and learning.
  • Manage and support a team of music staff, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative and inspiring working environment.
  • Coordinate and oversee all music-related events, performances, and extracurricular activities.
  • Work closely with other departments to integrate music across the broader curriculum and school life.
  • Promote and enhance the school's musical reputation through innovative programming and community engagement.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students within the music department.
  • Support the school’s mission of Happiness, Confidence and Achievement through music education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting, preferably in a music-related role.
  • Strong knowledge of music education and curriculum development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in music or education.
  • Experience in managing and developing a team of staff.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior leadership role within a school or college.
  • A passion for music and a commitment to fostering student creativity and confidence.
  • Experience with music technology and digital learning tools.
  • A track record of successful event coordination and performance management.
