Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the music department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Design and implement a broad, balanced, and inclusive music curriculum aligned with national standards.
- Review and update schemes of work and resources regularly to support student progress.
- Support and develop other music staff through coaching and mentoring.
- Manage the department budget and resources, including instruments and equipment.
- Promote and enhance the school’s music provision and extracurricular activities.
- Track student progress and use data to inform teaching and learning strategies.
- Contribute to PSHE and enterprise education according to school policy.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified and experienced Teacher of Music with strong subject knowledge.
- Experience teaching at KS3 and KS4 levels.
- Ability to motivate and engage students in music learning.
- Leadership experience in managing a department team.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and implementation.
- Familiarity with examination specifications and assessment practices.
- Experience in extracurricular music activities and events.
