The Opportunity:

As the Head of Nursery, you will lead a dynamic and passionate team, shaping the early learning experiences of young children. This role is central to creating a warm, stimulating environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Nursery department, ensuring high-quality educational experiences for all children.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that supports the holistic development of young learners.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and other departments to maintain consistent standards and values.
  • Monitor and assess children's progress, providing regular feedback to parents and staff.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive culture that promotes emotional wellbeing and resilience in children.
  • Organise and lead staff training and professional development sessions.
  • Ensure the safe and secure environment of the Nursery, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Work closely with the Lower School to ensure a seamless transition for children as they move through the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading a Nursery department within an early years setting.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood development and educational best practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and senior staff.
  • Commitment to the school’s values and ethos, particularly in nurturing and wellbeing.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting that prioritises wellbeing and emotional development.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and curriculum design.
  • Experience in managing a team of educators and support staff.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
