Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the PE and sport enrichment curriculum to ensure high-quality learning and engagement.
  • Manage and motivate a team of teachers and support staff to achieve outstanding outcomes.
  • Deliver and monitor teaching to GCSE standard, ensuring all students are challenged and supported.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and creativity in sport and physical education.
  • Work closely with leadership teams to align PE and sport initiatives with school-wide goals.
  • Promote and support extracurricular sporting activities and events.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate leadership and character development into the PE programme.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Experience of teaching to GCSE standard.
  • Ability to coach and motivate colleagues to achieve individual and collective targets.
  • Experience of sustained delivery of outstanding attainment and achievement.
  • Experience of innovation and creativity to engage and progress learners.

Preferred

  • Experience in middle leadership roles within education.
  • Proven track record in improving standards and raising pupil outcomes.
  • Strong organisational and motivational skills.
  • Experience of working in a school with a leadership specialism.
