Head of PE and Student Wellbeing job with focus on sport, wellbeing, and student leadership.

The Opportunity:

As the Head of PE and Student Wellbeing, you will lead the school’s physical education, sports, and wellbeing programs. This role is central to creating a positive, safe, and motivating environment that supports student success both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality PE lessons across high school grades.
  • Promote lifelong physical activity and health among students.
  • Lead and manage school sports programs, fixtures, and competitions.
  • Design and implement the school’s House system and related events.
  • Coordinate and support student leadership within the House system.
  • Promote student wellbeing through mentoring, assemblies, and initiatives.
  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection standards are upheld.
  • Act as the school’s DoE Coordinator, managing registrations and expeditions.
  • Support the boarding program and, if applicable, serve as a Housemaster/Housemistress.
  • Report regularly to the Principal on progress in sport, wellbeing, and house system development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Education, Psychology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Proven experience in leading sports programs and student wellbeing in an international or bilingual school context.
  • Strong understanding of international education systems and pastoral care frameworks.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Passionate about teaching and student learning.

Preferred

  • Experience with the Duke of Edinburgh Award program.
  • Leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Experience in boarding or residential school environments.
