The Opportunity:

A Head of PE / Director of Sport is needed to lead and inspire the delivery of physical education and sport for senior and sixth form girls. This role is ideal for a passionate educator who is committed to raising standards and fostering a culture of excellence in sport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop the physical education curriculum for KS3 to KS5, preparing students for GCSE, A-Levels and BTEC.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Develop and maintain an extra-curricular programme that supports both elite and mass participation in sport.
  • Lead and motivate a team of staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to integrate sport and physical education into the wider school experience.
  • Utilise digital technology to enhance teaching and learning in sport.
  • Ensure that all students are encouraged to reach their full potential through sport and physical activity.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a sports science or sports-related degree.
  • Proven experience in teaching and leading physical education at senior and sixth form level.
  • Strong ability to inspire and motivate students, staff and parents through a passion for sport.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality lessons across a range of sports and age groups.
  • Experience in developing and managing an extra-curricular programme.

Preferred

  • Experience as a Head of Physical Education or in a senior leadership role.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and digital tools in sport education.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • A commitment to the school’s ethos and values.
