Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Physics department, ensuring high academic standards and student achievement.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic and engaging physics curriculum that aligns with the school’s values and goals.
  • Inspire and motivate students through innovative teaching and a passion for physics.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to support cross-curricular initiatives and staff development.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support and intervention where needed.
  • Manage departmental resources, including equipment, facilities, and staff.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the department.
  • Work closely with the Science department to enhance the overall science education experience for students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a strong background in Physics.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Excellent organisational, time-management, and communication skills.
  • High expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge students to excel.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery.

Preferred

  • Experience in a co-educational environment.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching technologies and methods.
  • Experience in leading a department with a strong academic record.
  • Knowledge of Oxbridge and higher education pathways in science.
