Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Physics department, ensuring high academic standards and student achievement.
- Develop and implement a dynamic and engaging physics curriculum that aligns with the school’s values and goals.
- Inspire and motivate students through innovative teaching and a passion for physics.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school to support cross-curricular initiatives and staff development.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support and intervention where needed.
- Manage departmental resources, including equipment, facilities, and staff.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the department.
- Work closely with the Science department to enhance the overall science education experience for students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a strong background in Physics.
- Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
- Excellent organisational, time-management, and communication skills.
- High expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge students to excel.
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
Preferred
- Experience in a co-educational environment.
- Familiarity with modern teaching technologies and methods.
- Experience in leading a department with a strong academic record.
- Knowledge of Oxbridge and higher education pathways in science.
