The Opportunity:
As the Head of Physics, you will lead a forward-thinking Science Department and play a key role in inspiring students to excel in Physics and related fields. This is an opportunity to shape a progressive and innovative curriculum and drive academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Physics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and student achievement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver a dynamic and engaging curriculum at KS3, GCSE, and A Level.
- Support students in developing deep conceptual understanding and practical skills in Physics.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted interventions where needed.
- Work closely with the Multi-Academy Trust and external partners to enhance teaching and learning.
- Promote a culture of continuous professional development and excellence among department staff.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities.
- Ensure that the department maintains a calm, positive, and respectful environment for all students and staff.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a strong background in Physics.
- Experience in leading a department or team in an educational setting.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality teaching and achieve excellent student outcomes.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience with curriculum development and innovation in Science education.
- Familiarity with employer-led projects and industry partnerships.
- Experience in working within a Multi-Academy Trust.
- Knowledge of T-levels and vocational pathways.
