Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Politics department, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning.
- Oversee the academic progress and attainment of all students across key stages.
- Develop and implement a departmental development plan to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
- Manage departmental budgets, resources, and rooms effectively.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support the school’s academic and strategic goals.
- Deliver engaging and challenging lessons that promote critical thinking and a deep understanding of Politics.
- Stay up to date with developments in the subject and incorporate them into teaching.
- Support and mentor junior staff within the department.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
- Proven experience teaching Politics at A-Level (KS5).
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Politics education.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage a department and lead a team effectively.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and departmental leadership.
- Experience with pastoral care and student support.
- Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies and technology.
- A track record of achieving high academic outcomes.
