The Opportunity:
As the Head of Prep School, you will lead and inspire the academic, pastoral, and co-curricular development for Pre-Nursery to Year 6. This is a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience of the school’s youngest learners, while contributing to the school’s mission of excellence and global engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Prep Leadership Team, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all year groups.
- Develop and implement academic strategies that align with the school’s vision and values.
- Foster strong relationships with the Head of Admissions to support growth and recruitment across all age phases.
- Promote a culture of collaboration and innovation among staff, students, and the wider Brighton College network.
- Oversee the pastoral care and well-being of Prep School students, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Work closely with the Head of College to drive the strategic direction of the Prep School.
- Support professional development for Prep staff through leadership and training initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all school policies, national standards, and international best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a school setting, ideally within a Prep or Early Years environment.
- Strong academic background and experience in curriculum development and delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team of educators and support staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Commitment to the values of curiosity, kindness, and innovation in education.
- Experience in a growing or expanding international school environment.
Preferred
- Experience in a British or international curriculum setting.
- Familiarity with the Brighton College network of schools and its educational philosophy.
- Experience in leading school expansion or growth initiatives.
- Knowledge of co-curricular program development and student engagement strategies.
- Experience in working with diverse student and staff populations.
