The Opportunity:
As the Head of RE, you will lead and inspire a team of teachers to deliver a high-quality religious education curriculum. This role is pivotal in shaping the spiritual and moral development of students, ensuring alignment with the school's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the RE department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that reflects the school’s values and meets statutory requirements.
- Support and mentor RE teachers to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
- Work closely with senior leadership to drive school improvement and strategy.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous professional development within the department.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress and attainment in RE.
- Ensure effective resource management and use of school facilities.
- Engage with the wider school community to promote the value of RE.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in leading a department within a secondary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of the RE curriculum and statutory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the school’s values of hard work, trust, and fairness.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team of teachers effectively.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- Background in pastoral care or student welfare.
- Experience with data analysis and using insights to improve teaching and learning.
