The Opportunity:
We are seeking an inspirational Head of Religious Education to lead the RE department and shape a rigorous, engaging, and inclusive curriculum. This is a key leadership role with the potential to influence the school’s educational vision and impact student learning across key stages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the RE curriculum in line with the school’s knowledge-rich approach.
- Drive high standards of teaching and learning across the department.
- Monitor and support student progress, ensuring excellent outcomes at KS3 and KS4.
- Manage departmental resources and assessment strategies effectively.
- Contribute to whole-school initiatives and uphold the highest standards of behaviour and culture.
- Support and mentor staff within the RE department.
- Collaborate with other subject leaders to ensure a cohesive and inclusive curriculum.
- Ensure the RE department aligns with the school’s values of curiosity, scholarship, and tenacity.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A qualified teacher with experience in Religious Education.
- Proven leadership experience in a school setting, ideally in a senior or lead role.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching RE.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Commitment to the school’s values and ethos.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
- A track record of improving student outcomes and engagement.
- Experience with inclusive teaching practices.
- Familiarity with the school’s knowledge-rich approach to education.
