Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage an outstanding RE department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Deliver a curriculum that reflects the school's Catholic mission and values.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance student engagement and achievement in RE.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leadership and other subject leaders to support school-wide initiatives.
  • Foster strong relationships with students, staff, and the wider community.
  • Provide professional development and support to RE teachers and support staff.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and curriculum requirements.
  • Promote the school’s Catholic ethos through liturgical and pastoral activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A practicing Catholic with a strong faith commitment.
  • Proven leadership experience in a similar role, ideally within a Catholic school.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and teaching experience in Religious Education.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to teach across all key stages.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Experience in managing a department and leading staff development.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • A track record of successful departmental improvement.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
  • Familiarity with Catholic education and liturgical practices.
  • Experience in leading or supporting extra-curricular and faith-based activities.
