Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction for the Religious Education curriculum, ensuring it is ambitious, inclusive, and inspiring.
  • Monitor and improve teaching standards across the faculty, ensuring strong student outcomes.
  • Lead curriculum planning, assessment, and the implementation of high-quality teaching practices.
  • Support and develop staff through CPD, appraisal, and collaborative working.
  • Manage resources effectively, maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment.
  • Promote the relevance of Religious Education to students' wider development and future careers.
  • Ensure the curriculum meets the needs of all learners, including disadvantaged and SEND students.
  • Model professional excellence and uphold the school’s Catholic ethos.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A practising and committed Catholic.
  • Proven experience in teaching Religious Education at a senior level.
  • Strong leadership and curriculum development skills.
  • Experience in managing and developing a team of teachers.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and meeting the needs of all learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in school leadership or senior management roles.
  • Familiarity with Catholic education and values.
  • Experience in developing and implementing whole-school strategies.
  • Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices in Religious Education.
