Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction for the Religious Education curriculum, ensuring it is ambitious, inclusive, and inspiring.
- Monitor and improve teaching standards across the faculty, ensuring strong student outcomes.
- Lead curriculum planning, assessment, and the implementation of high-quality teaching practices.
- Support and develop staff through CPD, appraisal, and collaborative working.
- Manage resources effectively, maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment.
- Promote the relevance of Religious Education to students' wider development and future careers.
- Ensure the curriculum meets the needs of all learners, including disadvantaged and SEND students.
- Model professional excellence and uphold the school’s Catholic ethos.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A practising and committed Catholic.
- Proven experience in teaching Religious Education at a senior level.
- Strong leadership and curriculum development skills.
- Experience in managing and developing a team of teachers.
- Commitment to inclusive education and meeting the needs of all learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in school leadership or senior management roles.
- Familiarity with Catholic education and values.
- Experience in developing and implementing whole-school strategies.
- Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices in Religious Education.
