We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Head of Science to lead a committed Science faculty and drive continuous improvement in teaching and learning. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Science department with a clear strategic vision and direction.
- Drive continuous improvement in teaching and learning across all Science subjects.
- Inspire and motivate both students and staff to achieve excellence in Science education.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to shape the strategic development of the school and Science faculty.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring high standards of achievement and outcomes.
- Provide professional leadership, mentoring, and support to Science staff.
- Implement evidence-informed teaching strategies and best practices in Science education.
- Engage with the wider school community to promote the importance of Science and STEM.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within Science education.
- Demonstrated ability to improve student outcomes and drive academic success.
- Strong subject knowledge in Science and a commitment to high-quality teaching.
- Experience in leading and developing a Science department.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- A proven track record of recent success in education.
Preferred
- Experience in a school rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted.
- Familiarity with the National Teaching Schools framework and professional development opportunities.
- Experience with curriculum development and enrichment programs in Science.
- Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or collaborative educational environment.
