The Opportunity:
As Head of Science (Physics or Biology Specialism), you will lead the Science Department and play a key role in shaping the educational experience of students. You will drive innovation, support teacher development, and inspire students to achieve their full potential in a dynamic and supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Science Department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across Physics and Biology.
- Develop and implement a vision for science education that aligns with the school’s mission and international standards.
- Support and mentor teachers, fostering a culture of professional growth and collaboration.
- Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and reporting, ensuring alignment with IGCSE, AS, and A Level requirements.
- Promote student engagement and achievement through innovative teaching practices and extracurricular opportunities.
- Monitor and evaluate science performance, using data to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school and Nord Anglia Education to share best practices and enhance student outcomes.
- Engage with parents and the wider community to promote science education and student success.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- University degree in Physics or Biology
- Teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE/PGDE)
- At least 6 to 9 years of teaching experience within the British curriculum
- Extensive knowledge of the English National curriculum to IGCSE
Preferred
- Prior middle leadership experience, such as Head of Subject
- Master’s degree or significant professional development
- Previous international teaching experience
