The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Secondary English to lead and inspire students in a supportive and inclusive learning environment. This role is central to shaping the academic and personal development of students within a thriving international school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Secondary English department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that meet the needs of a diverse student body.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and enhance the school’s academic standards.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes student well-being and achievement.
  • Represent the school at internal and external events, contributing to its reputation and growth.
  • Ensure compliance with the school’s policies and international accreditation standards.
  • Support the school’s mission by promoting the British National Curriculum and inclusive learning practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • First Language English Speaker.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in teaching, with IGCSE experience (A-level an advantage).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
  • Intercultural communication skills and international experience.
  • PGCE/BEd with QTS or recognized teaching license.
  • Open and connected leadership style with the ability to build positive working relationships.

Preferred

  • Experience with CAIE, Edexcel, or other UK examination boards.
  • Three or more years of relevant international teaching experience.
