Head of Secondary English needed at a British international school in Baku.

The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Secondary English to lead and inspire students in a supportive and inclusive learning environment. This role is central to shaping the academic and personal development of students within a thriving international school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Secondary English department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that meet the needs of a diverse student body.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and enhance the school’s academic standards.
- Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes student well-being and achievement.
- Represent the school at internal and external events, contributing to its reputation and growth.
- Ensure compliance with the school’s policies and international accreditation standards.
- Support the school’s mission by promoting the British National Curriculum and inclusive learning practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- First Language English Speaker.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in teaching, with IGCSE experience (A-level an advantage).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
- Intercultural communication skills and international experience.
- PGCE/BEd with QTS or recognized teaching license.
- Open and connected leadership style with the ability to build positive working relationships.
Preferred
- Experience with CAIE, Edexcel, or other UK examination boards.
- Three or more years of relevant international teaching experience.
