The Opportunity:

The Head of Secondary will lead and inspire a team of educators, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, personalized curriculum that prepares students for the future. This role is central to shaping the academic direction and culture of a school committed to excellence and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Secondary department, ensuring alignment with the school’s vision and curriculum standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance academic performance and student outcomes.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment among staff, students, and parents.
  • Oversee the planning, delivery, and assessment of the National Curriculum for England.
  • Support the professional development of teachers and staff within the Secondary department.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in teaching and learning.
  • Represent the school at external events and engage with the wider community.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, diversity, and inclusion policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a secondary education setting.
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum for England.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection principles.
  • Experience in fostering inclusive and equitable learning environments.

Preferred

  • Experience in international school settings or within the British curriculum.
  • Background in educational leadership or senior management roles.
  • Familiarity with ISP (International Schools Partnership) or similar global education networks.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Strong track record in improving academic outcomes and student achievement.
