The Opportunity:

We are seeking a visionary Head of Secondary School to lead and inspire a dynamic team of educators. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of a growing and thriving school, with a strong emphasis on academic excellence, pastoral care, and extracurricular engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Secondary School, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality education aligned with the National Curriculum and IB Diploma.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the academic, pastoral, and extra-curricular development of the school.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive school culture, promoting the professional growth of staff and the academic success of students.
  • Oversee the management of teaching and support staff, ensuring effective leadership and team development.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, students, and the wider school community.
  • Monitor and evaluate academic performance, ensuring continuous improvement and student achievement.
  • Promote the school’s values, mission, and reputation both internally and externally.
  • Support the integration of new technologies and pedagogical innovations to enhance teaching and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within education, ideally in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the English National Curriculum and experience with the IB Diploma.
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • A valid teaching qualification such as B.Ed., M.Ed., or Lehramt.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team, with a focus on professional development and student outcomes.

Preferred

  • Experience in a British international school or similar educational environment.
  • Familiarity with German language and culture, or willingness to learn.
  • Experience in developing and managing extracurricular and pastoral programs.
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
  • A passion for innovation in education and a commitment to student well-being.
