The Opportunity:
As the Head of Sixth Form, you will provide strategic leadership and management to ensure the continued success and growth of the Sixth Form. This role is central to shaping the academic and personal development of students, preparing them for future success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the strategic direction of the Sixth Form, ensuring it meets the school’s academic and pastoral goals.
- Develop and implement policies and practices that support student achievement, well-being, and progression.
- Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Sixth Form, identifying areas for improvement and innovation.
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team to align the Sixth Form with the school’s overall vision and strategic priorities.
- Promote a culture of high achievement, personal development, and leadership among students.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with other departments and external stakeholders.
- Support the professional development of staff within the Sixth Form.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a senior educational role, ideally in a Sixth Form or similar setting.
- Strong academic background and a relevant teaching qualification.
- Experience in managing and developing large teams of staff and students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Demonstrable success in improving student outcomes and progression.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a Sixth Form with a strong academic record and high student satisfaction.
- Familiarity with the UK education system and current trends in Sixth Form provision.
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- Strong understanding of pastoral care and student well-being strategies.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary scale from £66,368 to £73,105 gross per annum.
