Summary:

Head of Spanish - Full-Time. Lead the Spanish department and inspire students at a leading international school.

The Opportunity:

As the Head of Spanish, you will lead the department, teach across all year groups, and inspire students from beginners to IB Diploma candidates. You will foster a strong team spirit and contribute to a culture of excellence, pastoral care, and co-curricular enrichment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Spanish across all year groups and ability ranges, including beginners and IB Diploma candidates.
  • Lead and develop the Spanish department, supporting and inspiring teaching staff.
  • Foster a strong team spirit and promote a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Deliver high-quality pastoral care and contribute to co-curricular activities.
  • Inspire students through a passion for the subject and innovative teaching methods.
  • Ensure the curriculum is engaging, challenging, and aligned with the school’s mission.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and student well-being.
  • Engage in professional development and contribute to the school’s continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A graduate with a strong academic background in Spanish.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Spanish across a range of year groups and ability levels.
  • Leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to pastoral care and co-curricular involvement.

Preferred

  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum.
  • A passion for language learning and teaching.
  • Experience in developing and leading teaching teams.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience in teacher training or professional development.
