The Opportunity:
As the Head of Sport, you will lead and develop the girls’ team sports programme from Year 3 to Year 13, shaping a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and competitive success. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the strategic direction of sport and inspire the next generation of female athletes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all girls’ team sports across the school.
- Collaborate with the Director of Sport on selected mixed and individual sports.
- Line-manage coaches and ensure high-quality delivery of sports provision.
- Design and implement a progressive Y3–Y13 spiral curriculum for each sport.
- Develop coaching frameworks and playbooks to maintain consistency and excellence.
- Oversee fixture planning, performance pathways, and competitive development.
- Deliver selected modules on Level 2 and Level 3 Sport & Exercise Science courses.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience as a coach and teacher in a school setting.
- Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
- Experience in developing and managing sport programmes for girls.
- Commitment to raising standards and increasing participation in girls’ sport.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum design and delivery.
- Knowledge of sports science and physical education qualifications.
- Experience with performance pathways and competitive development.
- Familiarity with Level 2 and Level 3 Sport & Exercise Science courses.
- Passion for promoting inclusivity and wellbeing in sport.
