The Opportunity:
As the Head of Student Services, you will lead and shape the student support strategy, ensuring that every student is empowered to thrive. This is a strategic role with a strong focus on safeguarding, inclusion, and family engagement, making a real difference in the lives of students and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, attendance, health, and welfare standards.
- Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for a designated cohort.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with families and support student voice and self-advocacy.
- Champion inclusive practice and support for students with complex needs.
- Collaborate with external agencies and local authorities to support student wellbeing.
- Drive continuous improvement in pastoral support and leadership across the school.
- Promote a culture of inclusion and belonging aligned with the Ofsted framework.
- Manage and support counselling, ELSA, and other student support services.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Significant experience in a pastoral, SEND, or multi-agency leadership role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Unwavering commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
- Ability to support students with complex needs, including ASC and neurodivergence.
Preferred
- Qualification in the education of children with SEN.
- Recent experience working with students with special educational needs.
- Experience working with ASC students.
