The Opportunity:

As Head of Teaching and Learning, you will play a key role in shaping the academic direction and pedagogical quality of the school. This is a leadership position that offers the chance to drive innovation, support staff development, and ensure high standards of teaching and learning across all year groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of high-impact teaching and learning strategies across the school
  • Support and coach teachers to improve pedagogical practices and curriculum delivery
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching standards through lesson observations, learning walks, and feedback
  • Provide targeted professional development and mentoring for teaching staff
  • Use assessment data and evidence-based approaches to track student progress and inform teaching improvements
  • Collaborate with middle and senior leaders to ensure curriculum coherence, progression, and innovation
  • Oversee and enhance assessment and feedback systems to maximise student achievement
  • Promote a culture of excellence, creativity, and high expectations for both staff and students
  • Lead on whole-school curriculum development, instructional planning, and professional learning communities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A recognised teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGCE with QTS or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in leading teaching and learning at whole-school or phase level
  • In-depth knowledge of the National Curriculum for England
  • Experience using data to drive school improvement
  • ADEK approval or eligibility is an advantage

Preferred

  • Leadership qualification (NPQML, NPQSL or equivalent)
  • Experience working in a BSO-accredited or international school
  • Strong interpersonal and coaching skills
  • A commitment to continuous professional growth, innovation, and collaboration
