The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Head of Technology to lead and inspire a dynamic department that supports student learning through innovative and engaging teaching practices. This role offers the chance to shape the curriculum and contribute to a school that is growing in popularity and impact within the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Technology department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning experiences for all students.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that is engaging, inclusive, and aligned with the school's vision and values.
- Support and mentor teaching staff to enhance their professional development and teaching practice.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school and Trust to contribute to curriculum development and innovation initiatives.
- Ensure the use of technology in the classroom is effective, innovative, and enhances student learning outcomes.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Promote a culture of inclusivity, equality, and diversity within the department and across the school.
- Work closely with senior leadership to ensure the Technology department aligns with the school's strategic goals.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum qualification of Qualified Teaching Status (QTS)
- Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 3/4 curriculum for Technology
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and leadership within a school setting
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
