The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Head of Technology to lead and inspire a dynamic department that supports student learning through innovative and engaging teaching practices. This role offers the chance to shape the curriculum and contribute to a school that is growing in popularity and impact within the local community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Technology department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning experiences for all students.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that is engaging, inclusive, and aligned with the school's vision and values.
  • Support and mentor teaching staff to enhance their professional development and teaching practice.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school and Trust to contribute to curriculum development and innovation initiatives.
  • Ensure the use of technology in the classroom is effective, innovative, and enhances student learning outcomes.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Promote a culture of inclusivity, equality, and diversity within the department and across the school.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to ensure the Technology department aligns with the school's strategic goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum qualification of Qualified Teaching Status (QTS)
  • Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 3/4 curriculum for Technology
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and leadership within a school setting
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
