The Opportunity:

The Head of Upper School will play a pivotal role in launching a new phase of education for Years 9-11, shaping a future-ready Upper School that combines academic rigor with strong pastoral care and co-curricular opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shaping a distinctive Upper School that reflects the school’s values and vision.
  • Ensuring students feel known, challenged, and inspired through personalized and supportive leadership.
  • Building strong partnerships with staff, families, and the wider community.
  • Championing student voice and leadership to foster a culture of engagement and empowerment.
  • Celebrating achievement in academic, creative, sporting, and personal domains.
  • Preparing young people with the character, curiosity, and confidence to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality IGCSE pathways with a focus on academic excellence.
  • Leading and supporting staff to maintain consistent standards across all aspects of the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in an educational setting, ideally in a senior role.
  • Strong academic and pastoral leadership skills with a track record of success.
  • Experience in curriculum development and implementation, particularly for Key Stage 4.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with students, staff, and parents.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in international or British curriculum schools.
  • Familiarity with IGCSE or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience in co-curricular program development or management.
  • Fluency in English and willingness to engage in professional development opportunities.
