The Opportunity:
We are seeking a visionary Head of Upper School to lead Grades 6–12 and ensure academic excellence, student wellbeing, and a high-quality learning experience. This role is central to shaping a dynamic and innovative educational environment aligned with the IB curriculum and the school’s core values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of the IB curriculum (MYP and DP), ensuring coherence, rigor, and institutional alignment.
- Monitor and analyze student academic performance using IB results, internal assessments, and benchmarking tools.
- Oversee the evaluation of the curriculum and identify opportunities for academic improvement and innovation.
- Ensure consistency in teaching standards, planning, assessment, and feedback across the Upper School.
- Manage the teaching team, conduct classroom observations, and provide structured professional development and feedback.
- Promote a culture of accountability, high expectations, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with the wellbeing team to ensure a systematic approach to student support and safeguarding.
- Ensure clear and consistent communication with families in academic, behavioral, and sensitive situations.
- Manage the daily operations of the Upper School, including timetables, teacher cover, and organization of activities.
- Align Upper School operations with the school’s strategic priorities, including bilingualism, academic standards, and wellbeing.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline with a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Teaching License, QTS, or international equivalent).
- Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or Management.
- Minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience as Head of Level – Upper School.
- Strong English language skills.
Preferred
- Spanish language skills.
- Internationally recognised school leadership training (NPQH / NPQSL).
- IB Leadership Certificates.
