The Opportunity:

As the Head of Wellbeing, you will lead and develop the PSHRE curriculum and support the team of tutors. This is a key role in shaping the school’s approach to student wellbeing and ensuring it meets the evolving statutory requirements by 2026. You will inspire students, staff, and the wider community while contributing to the school’s vision of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and delivery of the PSHRE curriculum in line with statutory guidance.
  • Manage and support a team of Form Tutors to ensure high-quality teaching and student engagement.
  • Work closely with the Head of Department to drive growth and improvement across the school.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and community partners to support student wellbeing.
  • Inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential and make informed life choices.
  • Ensure the wellbeing curriculum is inclusive, accessible, and meets the needs of all students.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the PSHRE programme and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide professional development opportunities for the team and support staff in delivering outstanding educational provision.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in PSHRE or related curriculum areas.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with experience of leading a team of educators.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver high-quality educational programmes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and a deep understanding of the importance of PSHRE in education.

Preferred

  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural and multi-faith environment.
  • Knowledge of the statutory requirements for PSHRE and experience of implementing curriculum changes.
  • Experience in teacher training or professional development.
  • Familiarity with the Cranmer Education Trust or similar multi-academy trusts.
