The Opportunity:

As the Head of Year 7, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the pastoral care and academic progress of a year group of 240 students. This is a unique opportunity to shape the culture and values of a school in its early stages of growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the pastoral provision for a year group of 240 pupils.
  • Support and develop the teaching and support staff team to deliver high-quality education.
  • Promote and maintain a strong ethos based on shared values and excellent behaviour.
  • Work closely with the Head of Department to drive the growth and development of the school.
  • Ensure students are supported to achieve their full potential and progress to their desired future destinations.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and community partners.
  • Deliver high-quality classroom teaching alongside leadership responsibilities.
  • Monitor and support student progress and well-being across the year group.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in a school setting.
  • Proven leadership experience within a school environment.
  • Strong understanding of pastoral care and student well-being.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Ability to manage and develop a team of staff effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience in a new or expanding school setting.
  • Experience with community engagement and parent partnerships.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
  • Experience with school leadership or management training.
