Summary:

Head of Year Group needed for a new school in Wapping. Lead a KS3 year group with passion and purpose.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a KS3 year group with a focus on academic achievement and student wellbeing.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
  • Work closely with families, students, and colleagues to foster a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, ensuring all students receive the support they need.
  • Collaborate with senior and middle leaders to drive school improvement and innovation.
  • Champion pastoral care, ensuring students feel supported and valued.
  • Promote a strong sense of community and inclusion across the school.
  • Deliver high-quality subject teaching, reinforced by excellent support for learning and intervention.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in leading a year group.
  • Strong knowledge of KS3 curriculum and pedagogy.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop staff and students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusion, equality, and student wellbeing.
  • Demonstrated experience in pastoral care and student support.

Preferred

  • Experience in a start-up or new school environment.
  • Leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Experience with inclusion and support programmes.
  • Knowledge of working with diverse student populations.
  • Experience in developing and delivering professional development.
