As a Head of Year, you will lead a year group and play a pivotal role in supporting student progress, managing welfare, and promoting positive behaviour. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to young people’s lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a year group, ensuring high standards of behaviour, attendance, and achievement.
- Support student welfare and wellbeing, acting as a key point of contact for families.
- Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to remove barriers to learning.
- Monitor and track student progress, implementing interventions where necessary.
- Promote a positive and inclusive culture across the year group.
- Develop and contribute to the role and impact of pastoral care within the school.
- Build strong relationships with students, staff, and families to support a cohesive school community.
- Ensure that all students feel supported and are able to achieve their full potential.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A qualified teacher with experience of leading or supporting pastoral care.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience with student interventions and behaviour management strategies.
- Experience working in a school that values inclusivity and diversity.
- Familiarity with curriculum delivery and student progress tracking systems.
