The Opportunity:

As Head of Year - Key Stage 5, you will lead and inspire a year group, ensuring academic and pastoral success. This role is ideal for a passionate and strategic leader looking to make a real difference in the lives of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a year group with clarity, purpose, and vision.
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan aligned with whole school priorities.
  • Monitor academic and pastoral progress to ensure student success and wellbeing.
  • Support and lead a team of Form Tutors to foster a culture of achievement and personal development.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that supports student growth and engagement.
  • Ensure students are well-prepared for life beyond school through effective pastoral care and academic guidance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance student outcomes and experiences.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a pastoral leadership role, preferably within a school setting.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Experience in Key Stage 5 teaching and pastoral care.
  • A commitment to student wellbeing and academic achievement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching subjects such as Maths, English, Science, Social Science, MFL (Spanish & French), or PE.
  • Ability to teach across Key Stages 3 to 5.
  • Experience in curriculum development and strategic planning.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and pastoral care best practices.
