The Opportunity:

As the Head Teacher, you will lead a dedicated team in delivering a trauma-informed curriculum that supports the academic, emotional, and personal development of students. This is a key leadership role that shapes the educational experience of young people in a supportive and inclusive setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead a strong, collaborative leadership team within the school.
  • Design and implement a bespoke curriculum tailored to the needs of each student.
  • Foster an inclusive, trauma-informed culture that promotes student well-being and self-worth.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team and local outreach provisions.
  • Ensure adherence to safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Support the professional development of staff and promote continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring high academic standards and personal growth.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and external agencies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a specialist education provision or mainstream setting.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in safeguarding and child protection.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver a trauma-informed, therapeutic approach to education.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) education.
  • Familiarity with the Attachment and Trauma-Sensitive Award (ATSSA).
  • Experience working within a network of educational institutions.
  • Background in curriculum development and student support strategies.
