The Opportunity:
As the Head Teacher, you will lead a dedicated team in delivering a trauma-informed curriculum that supports the academic, emotional, and personal development of students. This is a key leadership role that shapes the educational experience of young people in a supportive and inclusive setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead a strong, collaborative leadership team within the school.
- Design and implement a bespoke curriculum tailored to the needs of each student.
- Foster an inclusive, trauma-informed culture that promotes student well-being and self-worth.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team and local outreach provisions.
- Ensure adherence to safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Support the professional development of staff and promote continuous improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring high academic standards and personal growth.
- Maintain strong communication with parents and external agencies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a specialist education provision or mainstream setting.
- Strong knowledge and experience in safeguarding and child protection.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver a trauma-informed, therapeutic approach to education.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Preferred
- Experience in SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) education.
- Familiarity with the Attachment and Trauma-Sensitive Award (ATSSA).
- Experience working within a network of educational institutions.
- Background in curriculum development and student support strategies.
