The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Headteacher to lead the next exciting phase of a special academy’s journey. This is an opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of children and young people with additional needs, within a supportive and innovative educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the overall operations of the school with a clear focus on child-centred values and high expectations for all students.
- Inspire and motivate staff to deliver the highest standards of teaching and learning.
- Implement effective strategies for leading and managing change, with a strategic vision for the school’s future.
- Collaborate and build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and a wide range of professionals.
- Ensure the school continues to meet and exceed Ofsted standards through continuous improvement and development.
- Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive school culture that supports the well-being of all students and staff.
- Manage and oversee the school’s budget and resources effectively to support the educational needs of students.
- Support the professional development of staff through training, coaching, and career pathways.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in leading a special or alternative provision school, or a mainstream school with experience in special educational needs.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Experience of effectively leading and managing change and the ability to think strategically.
- A deep understanding of how children and young people with additional needs learn and make progress.
- A strong commitment to collaboration and partnership working.
- Excellent management and organisational skills.
Preferred
- Experience of working within a Multi Academy Trust or similar educational structure.
- Knowledge of current educational policies and initiatives related to special educational needs.
- Experience in developing and implementing school improvement plans.
- Demonstrable success in improving outcomes for students with additional needs.
