The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the overall operations of the school with a clear focus on child-centred values and high expectations for all students.
  • Inspire and motivate staff to deliver the highest standards of teaching and learning.
  • Implement effective strategies for leading and managing change, with a strategic vision for the school’s future.
  • Collaborate and build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and a wide range of professionals.
  • Ensure the school continues to meet and exceed Ofsted standards through continuous improvement and development.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive school culture that supports the well-being of all students and staff.
  • Manage and oversee the school’s budget and resources effectively to support the educational needs of students.
  • Support the professional development of staff through training, coaching, and career pathways.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading a special or alternative provision school, or a mainstream school with experience in special educational needs.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Experience of effectively leading and managing change and the ability to think strategically.
  • A deep understanding of how children and young people with additional needs learn and make progress.
  • A strong commitment to collaboration and partnership working.
  • Excellent management and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience of working within a Multi Academy Trust or similar educational structure.
  • Knowledge of current educational policies and initiatives related to special educational needs.
  • Experience in developing and implementing school improvement plans.
  • Demonstrable success in improving outcomes for students with additional needs.
