Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and develop a long-term vision for the school to support student growth and inclusion.
  • Foster a positive school culture by working collaboratively with staff, students, parents, governors, and the Local Authority.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of the Curriculum for Wales with a focus on pedagogy and student outcomes.
  • Continue to execute the Post Inspection Action Plan, with an emphasis on safeguarding, ALN management, and attendance improvements.
  • Promote the school’s core values of respect, responsibility, tolerance, and honesty across all aspects of school life.
  • Enhance the sense of belonging through initiatives such as the House system and support for students with additional learning needs.
  • Work closely with the Governing Body to ensure alignment with the school’s mission and goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement across all areas of school operations and student experience.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a Headteacher or senior leader in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students.
  • In-depth knowledge of Welsh education policies, including the Curriculum for Wales and ALN provision.
  • Experience in implementing post-inspection action plans and improving school performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with all stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Experience with school improvement and transformation projects.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and best practices.
  • Leadership experience within a school with a House system or similar initiatives.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and supporting students with additional learning needs.
