The Opportunity:

As Headteacher, you will lead a large, inclusive school community with over 1,800 students and 200 staff members. This is a pivotal role for someone who is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people, especially those who need it most. You will be responsible for driving academic success, fostering a culture of care, and ensuring that every student thrives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire a large, diverse staff team, ensuring high standards and a culture of excellence.
  • Drive academic success and ensure that outstanding practice is embedded across all areas of the school.
  • Champion the needs of disadvantaged students and those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive school environment that values both academic achievement and personal development.
  • Collaborate closely with the Trust and wider school community to promote shared goals and values.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and school performance.
  • Ensure a strong pastoral care system that supports student wellbeing and personal growth.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development for staff.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a large, high-profile school setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, care, and excellence in education.
  • Experience in driving academic success and improving student outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and inspire others.
  • A deep understanding of educational policy and best practice.

Preferred

  • Experience working with disadvantaged students and those with SEND.
  • Leadership experience within a multi-academy trust or similar educational partnership.
  • A track record of successful school improvement and collaboration with external stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing large teams and leading school-wide initiatives.
