The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Headteacher to lead a highly successful 11–18 girls’ grammar school known for academic excellence and a strong sense of community. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and committed to driving the school forward with vision and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire a dedicated team of staff, students, and governors to achieve the school’s strategic vision.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across all subjects and year groups.
  • Foster a culture of high expectations, warmth, and integrity that supports both academic and personal development.
  • Develop and implement the school’s strategic vision for the future, building on its existing strengths.
  • Promote and maintain the school’s strong reputation through effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Support the personal development and well-being of all students, ensuring they feel safe, confident, and able to flourish.
  • Manage and develop the school’s facilities, ensuring they continue to provide an outstanding learning environment.
  • Work closely with the Governing Body to ensure the school meets all statutory and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a senior educational role, preferably in a grammar school setting.
  • A strong track record in improving academic outcomes and student achievement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Experience in strategic planning and the development of long-term educational vision.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing large, successful schools with a strong academic reputation.
  • A background in single-sex education and an understanding of the benefits of a girls-only learning environment.
  • Experience in leading school improvement initiatives and driving innovation in teaching and learning.
  • Strong knowledge of current educational policies and trends in UK schools.
