The Opportunity:
As Headteacher - Mathematics School, you will lead a dynamic and high-achieving institution that delivers exceptional education in mathematics, physics, and computer science. You will play a key role in driving continued excellence and inspiring future generations of mathematicians and scientists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the strategic direction of the school, ensuring alignment with its mission and vision.
- Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that supports the academic and personal development of students.
- Oversee the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning in mathematics, physics, and computer science.
- Develop and implement effective policies and practices to support continuous improvement and school improvement.
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and the wider community.
- Manage the school’s outreach programme, promoting STEM education across Merseyside.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including safeguarding and DBS checks.
- Support and challenge school leaders and trustees in achieving the school’s goals and objectives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in senior leadership and management within education.
- Strong qualifications and experience in mathematics or a related field.
- Demonstrated success in school improvement and leadership.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Ability to meet all teaching and leadership standards.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a specialist maths school or similar institution.
- Experience in developing and delivering outreach programmes in STEM.
- Familiarity with A-Level and Further Mathematics curricula.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
