Headteacher - SEMH and Autism School seeking visionary leader. Up to £85,000 per annum.

The Opportunity:
This is a unique opportunity for a Headteacher to lead and shape a specialist school for children and young people with SEMH and Autism. You will have the chance to build a supportive, innovative environment that prioritises wellbeing, safety, and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop a specialist school from the ground up, with a focus on SEMH and Autism.
- Embed trauma-informed practices across all aspects of the school’s culture and curriculum.
- Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality education and care.
- Establish a safe, nurturing environment that promotes the emotional and academic growth of pupils.
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted frameworks and maintain high standards in safeguarding and quality.
- Collaborate with therapists and specialists to create personalised learning pathways for students.
- Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and local authorities to support student success.
- Manage budgets, resources, and strategic planning to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with significant experience in SEN leadership.
- Proven experience as a Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher in SEN, SEMH, or alternative provision.
- In-depth knowledge of trauma-informed practice and inclusive education.
- Strong understanding of Ofsted frameworks for specialist settings.
- Demonstrated ability in budget management, resource planning, and leading change.
Preferred
- Experience in leading the development of new schools or settings.
- Background in therapeutic or mental health support services.
- Experience with the 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) or flexible working models.
- Strong track record in safeguarding and operational excellence.
