The Opportunity:

As a Health and PE Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the physical and health education of students from Elementary to Middle school. You will deliver engaging, innovative lessons that inspire a lifelong love of physical activity and promote healthy lifestyles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of PE and Physical Development programs for primary and middle school students.
  • Collaborate with the PE coordinator to ensure a cohesive, through-school curriculum.
  • Develop and implement an innovative, progressive PE curriculum aligned with educational standards.
  • Create and maintain safe, engaging learning environments that promote student well-being and development.
  • Ensure all health and safety protocols are strictly followed during lessons and in preparation areas.
  • Design and deliver differentiated schemes of work to support the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Stay current with subject developments and participate in continuous professional development.
  • Provide regular student performance reports and plan effective interventions based on assessment data.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor of Education degree (Ontario or equivalent).
  • Ontario Teachers’ Certificate or international teaching qualification in good standing.
  • Qualified to teach elementary and middle school students.
  • Native English speaker.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in teaching PE.

Preferred

  • Experience with innovative teaching and learning methods.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a collaborative, supportive team environment.
  • Coaching or extracurricular experience.
  • Independent school teaching experience.
