The Opportunity:
As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the school maintains a safe and compliant environment. You will be responsible for conducting risk assessments, audits, and training to support the school’s commitment to health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and safety audits across the school.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Deliver training sessions on health and safety topics such as fire safety and manual handling.
- Collaborate with managers to develop and implement health and safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with current health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Support the school in achieving continuous improvement in health and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on all health and safety activities.
- Work closely with staff at all levels to promote a culture of safety and responsibility.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Up-to-date knowledge of current health and safety legislation.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Membership of IOSH or relevant professional body.
- Strong IT skills and ability to use relevant software.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and influence others effectively.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and attention to detail.
Preferred
- Experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
- Experience with health and safety training delivery.
- Experience with accident investigation and reporting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
