Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Health and Social Care lessons to students aged 11-19.
  • Develop and implement a subject specialist curriculum aligned with the school’s vision and values.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages high expectations and strong student behavior.
  • Support student well-being through excellent pastoral care and meaningful relationships.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Social Sciences faculty to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to staff training and development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress using research-informed teaching approaches.
  • Promote the school’s values of ambition, opportunity, and community in all aspects of teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Health and Social Care or a related subject.
  • Strong knowledge of Health and Social Care curriculum and pedagogy.
  • Experience in teaching students aged 11-19.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Fluency in spoken English.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering research-informed teaching strategies.
  • Background in pastoral care or student support.
  • Experience with inclusive education and working in diverse communities.
  • Previous involvement in extra-curricular activities related to Health and Social Care.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive and supportive school culture.
