The Opportunity:

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of students. You will support students' medical needs, administer approved medication, and maintain accurate records and reports. This part-time, term-time role is ideal for someone who is passionate about working with young people and making a positive impact in their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer approved medication in accordance with school policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and support students’ medical needs throughout the school day.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and reports.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding health-related matters.
  • Collaborate with other support staff to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment.
  • Assist with health and wellbeing initiatives as required.
  • Attend INSET days and other training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Follow all safeguarding and child protection procedures as part of the role.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in a healthcare or educational support role.
  • Ability to administer medication in line with legal and school guidelines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience working with young people in a school setting.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare assistant or similar role.
  • Knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures.
  • Flexibility to work across different school areas and with various age groups.
