The Opportunity:

As a High School Counsellor, you will play a key role in supporting students through academic planning, personal development, and post-secondary transitions. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student success and well-being within a dynamic and supportive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a caseload of students, supporting their academic progress and post-secondary applications.
  • Lead course selection meetings and monitor student pathways, ensuring academic planning and personal well-being.
  • Collaborate with counsellors across all divisions and with the High School Leadership Team.
  • Facilitate College and Career presentations, information sessions, and university application processes.
  • Liaise with global universities and post-secondary institutions to support student admissions.
  • Provide pastoral support and serve as a first point of contact for parents and teachers.
  • Conduct individual and group course scheduling meetings and manage course changes.
  • Support students through the IB, AP, and other academic programs and graduation pathways.
  • Work with Learning Support and Social Emotional Counselling teams to address student needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in high school counselling or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of university application systems in the UK, US, Western Europe, and Canada.
  • Ability to manage a student caseload and support academic and personal development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with PowerSchool or similar academic management software.

Preferred

  • Experience with the IB Diploma, AP Program, BTEC, and US High School Diploma.
  • Knowledge of university application management software.
  • Experience in data analysis related to academic and college counselling.
  • Experience in establishing professional networks within international education and higher education communities.
