High School Counselor needed to support student academic and post-secondary success at a leading international school.

The Opportunity:

As a High School Counselor, you will play a pivotal role in guiding students through their academic journey and supporting them in achieving their post-secondary goals. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student success within a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a caseload of students, monitoring academic progress and supporting post-secondary applications.
  • Lead course selection meetings and develop academic pathways for students in high school.
  • Collaborate with other counsellors and school leaders to ensure student success and well-being.
  • Liaise with parents, teachers, and external institutions to support student transitions and development.
  • Facilitate college and career presentations and information sessions for students and parents.
  • Provide pastoral support and refer students to social emotional counsellors when necessary.
  • Support the transition of students from Middle School through to post-secondary destinations.
  • Maintain professional networks within the international and higher education communities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in high school counseling and student support.
  • Strong understanding of university application systems in the UK, US, Western Europe, and Canada.
  • Experience with academic planning, course scheduling, and student progress monitoring.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and manage a large caseload.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with PowerSchool and university application management software.
  • Experience with the IB Diploma, AP Program, BTEC, and US High School Diploma.
  • Knowledge of inclusive learning environments and multiple graduation pathways.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting in an educational setting.
