The Opportunity:

A High School Music Teacher is needed to inspire and educate students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, preparing them for IGCSE examinations. This role offers the chance to lead a peripatetic music program, direct ensembles, and contribute to a vibrant co-curricular music program that enhances student learning and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Music to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, preparing them for IGCSE examinations.
  • Manage and lead a peripatetic music program and instrumental tutors.
  • Direct and develop school ensembles, including orchestras, bands, and choirs.
  • Organise and coordinate school-wide musical performances and events.
  • Promote the Lasallian mission and core values within the school community.
  • Ensure effective planning, preparation, assessment, and reporting in line with school expectations.
  • Contribute to the development and growth of the school’s Arts program.
  • Support the delivery of a high-quality, inclusive, and holistic education for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Music at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading a peripatetic music program and instrumental tutors.
  • Experience in directing and developing school ensembles such as orchestras, bands, and choirs.
  • Strong knowledge of the IGCSE curriculum and teaching pedagogy.
  • Commitment to the Lasallian mission and core values of the school.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive and inclusive school environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in organising and coordinating school-wide musical performances and events.
  • Experience with professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practice.
